Reinvesting in our communities through volunteerism and philanthropy
Throughout our 100-plus years, transforming communities has remained intertwined with our mission and vision of helping Hawaiʻi build and live better. We've learned that building a strong, resilient community starts with nourishing local roots and tending the relationships that sustain us. Our giving through the HPM Foundation, HPM Community Building Team, and material donations provide resources to various incredible organizations working hard to uplift Hawaii's people and help others live better.
To show our gratitude for local nonprofits' tireless work and valuable contributions, we're pleased to contribute $100,000 each year through the HPM Foundation to support efforts that directly strengthen our community.

The Community Reinvestment Framework (“CRF”) is a philosophy and guiding mindset for all we do at HPM, from doing business with our customers, to how we interact with our owner-employees. The framework was developed with the company’s Mission statement in mind. The name Community Reinvestment is to reflect the community’s support for HPM and our commitment to continue giving back. The CRF branches out into 5 focus areas that play a critical role in one’s everyday life.

Full-time and part-time UH Community College Carpentry program students are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients will receive $750 each.
Established in honor of Robert “Bobby” M. Fujimoto, retired chairman, CEO, and third-generation leader of HPM Building Supply, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 93, this scholarship assists undergraduate students enrolled at any UH System campus statewide with costs associated with attendance such as tuition, books, and fees.
Bobby Fujimoto was a staunch advocate of higher education who served on the UH Board of Regents from 1979 to 1987, including as its chair from 1981 to 1983. He made generous donations to UH and also served as a trustee of the UH Foundation. UH full-time undergraduate students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and who graduated from a Hawai‘i high school are eligible to apply. Hawai‘i high school seniors who intend to enroll full-time at a UH campus are also eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients will receive $1,000 each.
One hundred years could not have been celebrated without an appreciation for our community. We wanted to give back, so we partnered with and supported nonprofits and other community organizations throughout the state to fulfill 100 Acts of Service throughout our centennial year in 2021.
